Verifying your business details for a toll-free SMS number is an important part of setting up and managing your business communications. In this article, we'll provide an overview of the steps involved in verifying your business details for a toll-free SMS number.

Before you begin

  1. Ensure you’re on a paid plan for your workspace. Toll-free numbers are currently unavailable for workspaces on the free-trial plan.

  2. Choose an appropriate Add-On SMS plan. This provides your workspace with the ready SMS credits to avail a toll-free number for your workspace.

Updating your business details

To verify your business details on your workspace:

  1. Head to your workspace's 'Settings'.

  2. Click on the tab titled ‘Messaging’.

  3. Under Messaging, choose the SMS field.

  4. Under your SMS Phone Numbers, you will see an 11-digit number with a status marked as ‘Unverified’. Click on the button titled ‘Verify Number’.

  5. A form will open up. This form will have your Business Contact Information pre-filled. Please verify the details and fill in any gaps.

  6. For details pertaining to your toll-free number:

    1. Select the estimated monthly volume of SMS you may send.

    2. Add in the Use Case Category defining what your primary use case for SMS would be.
      Eg.: Transactional, appointments, mixed, delivery

    3. Add a brief summary detailing the use case
      Eg.: Sending intimation regarding loyalty program reward points, new product launch announcements, flash sale notifications.

    4. Add in a sample message under the field titled ‘Production Message Content’
      Eg.: “ New arrivals for the new season! We admire your fashion sense, {{ customer_first_name }}, & we believe our new women's thermal winter collection will FRESHEN up your look and meet your needs! Check it out right now at out {{ store }}.”

    5. Share how your store visitors are providing SMS consent under the field titled ‘Opt-In Description’
      Eg.: Customers opt-in when joining the loyalty program or subscribing to updates from the store.

    6. Share images showing your SMS consent collection forms on your store/website. Eg.: Your website/store’s Terms and Conditions or a screenshot of the form in use.


    7. Submit these details. The status of your application will move to ‘Verification In Progress’.


During this stage, you can use the toll-free number to send campaigns as you would once the number is verified. Once your business details are verified, the status will change to ‘Verified’.

What do I do in case my business details verification fails?

Our team will inform you in case any further details are required, owing to which the verification may fail. In such cases, you are required to resubmit the form with updated details. Our customer support team will be able to guide you with any queries.
